With a special humanitarian aid permit given by the U.S. department of the treasury I was able to go into Cuba to take funds for the People to People ministry we have there. I also was able to teach our pastors and leaders for CURSUM (Advanced Ministerial Training). In an effort to bring our pastors up to date on their continuing education we had to have an extra session of CURSUM this year. I was asked to help in the teaching and taught on the subject of, “Identifying Cults and how to deal with them”. We had a great time with the six invited speakers that taught day and night sessions. Supt. Beatriz Lopez as always was a great hostess to all of us and the wonderful setting of the La Rosita church in Havana made for a great atmosphere of worship God and study of the word. There were nearly 80 pastors and leaders in the sessions. Next year the pastors will be on track and can continue in CURSUM in the normal schedule as planned. I want to say a special thanks to the pastors form the Pacific Coast conference in Mexico for their sacrifice and financial support for this work. They paid for their flight and expenses to go and teach. Mexico has adopted Cuba as a special mission ministry and has been able to bless in many ways through their heart of giving. In my travels to Cuba I entered by way of Dominican Republic. I was blessed to get to share some time with our National leader in the DR, Andres Sanchez. We pray for blessings on our leaders in the DR and in Cuba.
